Termite Treatment & Control

SW Oklahoma has eastern subterranean termites. These termites feed on cellulose material such as cardboard, paper and structural wood in buildings. An eastern subterranean termite colony has 20,000 to 5 million workers and soldiers and one primary queen. She will lay 5,000 to 10,000 eggs a day to keep building her colony.

Swarmers

Swarmers are winged adult termites that are sexually mature. Large winged termites that make a sudden appearance on windowsills or near windows on a warm day after a rainfall. One male and one female will lose their wings, pair up and start a new colony.

Workers

Workers are about 3mm long and are white or translucent in color. They are blind, sterile, wingless and soft-bodied. They make up the majority of the termite colony. They do everything for the colony from foraging for food to grooming other termites. These little workers build and repair the shelter tubes the colony uses as highways. They take care of the eggs and they also participate in colony defense.
